During the summer 2015 I worked for a french retro gaming shop. I was the technician there but also the programmer, I even got to help and sell to the clients. I was assigned to design the OS for a custom made Arcade working on RaspBerry PI. I based myself on my previous work (NES and Gameboy PI) but I worked on a way bigger scale which was interesting to not be contrained with space. We worked with an artisan in France who made the wooden case and I did the wiring for the controllers. I set up everything in no time, we had a deadline coming soon and the artisan handed me the Arcade a week late, I worked overnight to finish on time. I made an iso of my configuration for my employer so he could still make arcades. I named the retropie based OS CAScade (Creative Arcade Solution). Even if I got the arcade late on the deadline it helped me to push myself even harder to meet the requirements. I also dealt with the client, explaining him how everything worked by vulgarising the technology used.
This was a great experience, to work with a team in a shop and to deal with the client at the same time was a great opportunity.
